Delta fostered a love of reading and took part in World Book Day!  Around the school, there was a great buzz and everyone was reading for pleasure. Reading has an amazing effect on how we interact with others through books. 

Once again, we took part in a few activities and stories focusing on kindness from 52 Lives School of Kindness alongside other activities too:

• Children and staff dressing up in their book character costumes 
• Potato book character competition
• Whole school assembly - guess the book quiz!
• Peer reading - different classes reading and sharing a book
• Where’s Wally scavenger hunt
• Reading Fiesta where parents were invited to read
• Write a story based on ‘Ten-word Tiny Tales of Love’ by Joseph Coelho
• Listening to books which are linked to kindness
• Reception to Year 3 - ‘Kindness for Koalas’ where the children invented their own character and how they will teach the value kindness 
• Year 4 to 6 - Kindness Boomerang’ where the children created their own kindness boomerang to spread kindness with each person they met

It was pure joy getting lost in all things related to reading and books!
