Everyone at Delta got into the festive spirit and had a delicious Christmas lunch provided by The Pantry. The children enjoyed pulling a Christmas cracker with their friends. It was also Christmas jumper day. It was lovely to see a range of Christmas jumpers worn to school. Many children donated £1 for wearing their Christmas jumper to school, which will go to the worthwhile charity - Save the Children.
Today Curie and Hawking class were very excited to go and watch a Christmas pantomime called "Snow White and the Seven Superheroes" at Millfield Theatre. The children were very sensible and travelled by public transport and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of watching a live theatre show.
Goodall Class performed their class assembly to parents. The class were very confident and spoke about what life was like in Ancient Greece. The class were also in costume and performed a lovely dance. Well done.
Carver Class have been really enjoying reading the book 'The Boy with Wings' by the comedian and author Lenny Henry. The books were kindly donated by the Children's Book Project. #childrensbookproject #loveofreading
Anning class have been learning about Transport from the past and present. Today they had a special visit from the local firefighters and a fantastic opportunity to see how a fire engine works!
Today the children came into school wearing their pyjamas to help support the charity - Children In Need. Thank you to all the children who made a £1.00 donation. We will find out how much the school raised soon.
It was lovely seeing so many children wearing odd socks today, to help support Anti-Bullying Week! This week the children will be carrying out many activities linked to Anti-Bullying during their PSHE lessons.
Don't forget to come into school wearing odd socks with your normal school uniform. This is to support Anti-Bullying Week!
This afternoon Year 5/6 Carver class performed a wonderful assembly, about World War I to parents. All the children were very confident speakers and were able to retain and present all the key knowledge they have learnt about the War this half term. Well done.
Today we announced our new Delta Parliament councillors and Year 6 MPS. The children were all very pleased and are looking forward to taking on their new roles and responsibilities. We will be having our very first Parliament meeting after half term.
Well done to all the children who ran for election. The whole school really enjoyed the experience of going to a polling station, having a polling card, filling a ballot paper and having the right to vote.
