  • Year 4 Farah - Farm to Fork Workshop

    Year 4 Farah class had a visit from The Pantry to learn how food gets from farms to their plates. The children conducted an interview to find out more about their school meals. They learnt that The Pantry is an eco-friendly company and are focused on sustainability. The Pantry explained that most of the food supplied to Delta comes from UK suppliers. They also highlighted their efforts to reduce food miles and their carbon footprint, as well as the importance of supporting local farmers. The children enjoyed asking questions and learning about sustainable food sourcing.

  • Maths and Writing Enrichment at Aim Academy

    Year 5/6 Jemison class had the opportunity to visit Aim Academy again and this sessions focus was Maths. The children worked hard on their four operations in a fun Maths workshop and then were inspired by a creative writing class for the afternoon,  It was a great experience for Jemison class as they prepare to move onto their stage of education.  All pupils valued the afternoon and showed great maturity on the day.

  • Year 3 St Albans Verulamium Trip

    Year 3 Angelou class visited the St Albans Verulamium Museum to find out more about the Ancient Romans. The children saw a beautiful 1700-year-old mosaic floor, created sketches of the old Roman City Wall ruins and looked at ancient artifacts. The class also took part in a workshop where they dressed up as Roman citizens and went shopping for Roman foods and objects in the market square.

    The children thoroughly enjoyed learning outside the classroom and reported back at school that it was an amazing experience.

  • End of Term Class Parties

    Each class celebrated the end of term, with a festive themed party. The pupils enjoyed party games, eating party food, pulling crackers together and enjoying each other’s company.

  • 100% Attendance Breakfast

    Well done to all the pupils who have been in school every day this Autumn term and have achieved 100% attendance. The pupils were awarded a 100% attendance certificate and parents were also notified via email. The pupils also enjoyed a celebratory attendance breakfast.

    We expect all our Delta children to be punctual and attend school every day so they do not miss out on all the exciting learning and wonderful events that take place.

  • Whole School Christmas Poetry Performance

    Once again, our half termly poetry performances took place. Reception and KS1 performed their Christmas songs from their performance to parents, to the rest of the school. KS2 performed their Christmas poems. Each half term, it is a pleasure to see how much enjoyment and confidence that the pupils have when performing.

  • Pupil of the Term, Outstanding Kindness and 100% Attendance

    Our celebration assembly took place today where we announced who was the Pupil of the Term for each class and for each curriculum subject. The pupils were nominated by their class teacher and each chosen pupil was awarded a certificate and given a festive treat. The teachers also chose one pupil from their class who has continued to follow one of our values - Kindness throughout this term.

    We also shared the whole school attendance for each year group for the Autumn term and congratulated those children who have 100% attendance this term. The pupils were awarded a 100% attendance certificate and parents were also notified via email. The pupils will enjoy a celebratory attendance breakfast tomorrow.

  • Christmas Song Performance

    Year Reception/1 Kahlo class and Year 2 Mandela class have been busy rehearsing for the past week and today sang a range of Christmas and Winter Wonderland songs. The children all look wonderful in their Christmas decorative hats. This was also the first time our Reception children have performed to such a large audience. All the children did incredibly well and performed with such confidence. What a wonderful way to kickstart our festive December events till the end of term. Thank you to all our parents who attended.

  • Millfield Theatre Trip

    This week Year 2 Mandela, Year 3 Angelou, Year 4 Farah and Year 5/6 Jemison went to Millfield Theatre to watch the Christmas Panto 'Aladdin and The Legions of Genies.' All the children thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The children were able to uphold our school values outside of school and were excellent representatives for Delta.

  • Freshwater Theatre Company

    Today we had Freshwater Theatre Company carry out a workshop with Year Reception & 1 Kahlo, where they had to use their senses to explore traditional tales. The children were immersed in stories such as The Gingerbread Man and The Three Little Pigs. All the children had a wonderful time.

  • Science Enrichment at Aim Academy

    This afternoon, Year 5/6 Jemison went to Aim Academy for their second enrichment afternoon. The children were inspired by the Science lesson and had the opportunity to participate in a practical lesson. The children created their own red cabbage indicator to then test if mixtures were acidic, alkali or neutral solutions. The class are already looking forward to the next enrichment afternoon next term, which will focus on reading and writing.
