Today, the rest of the school had the opportunity to say a final and fond farewell to our Year 6 children. Our Year 6 children walked with pride and released their Delta green balloons before leaving the school gates for the final time. We wish all our Year 6 all the best and hope they have a smooth transition to secondary school.
We celebrated children’s achievements in our end of year assembly with awards for excellent effort and attitude in subjects, 100% attendance, Kindness and our Pupil of the Term awards. Congratulations to all of our award winners!
Today we had our very own Delta's Got Talent where children from the final acts got to perform and show their talent to the whole school. We had a range of acts such as singing, gymnastics, speed drawing and dancing. We even had our very own teachers as the judges! Well done to all our children who took part - they really did show some remarkable talent.
We had wonderful weather for our children and families to enjoy Sports Day this year. The children were remarkable and worked together in their sporting teams, communication and turn taking and celebrating the competitive races too! We even had our parents who showed grit and determination to win the parent race too!
Reception Rosen thoroughly enjoyed their Mini Olympics sporting activities, where they showed great teamwork, turn taking and sportsmanship. We may have some future Olympians amongst them!
Today our Year 6 children had their final assembly and will be leaving Delta and going to their secondary school in September. Our Year 6 parents were invited and the children shared their memories of their time at Delta. They also performed and sang a song and we also had our Year 5 children recite a poem to our Year 6 children. The children also each received their Delta Leavers 2024 jumper and an autograph book as a keepsake gift.
At the end of June, TTRockstars launched the 'London Rocks' timetables competition. Delta came 44th out of 346 schools who participated across schools around London. Well done to our Top 2 'Most Valuable Players' who scored the highest in our school.
Year 5/6 Jemison had their end of year trip to ZSL London Zoo. The class travelled by public transport and had a lovely day out. The children were able to see a range of animals.
After the Poetry Performance, all our parents and family members were invited to see our school hall transformed into an Art Exhibition! The children showcased a variety of work from this term, which clearly showed a range of mediums and materials that have been used. The children's Art and D&T work really showed a high quality of knowledge, skills and progression from each year group.
Thank you to all the parents who came and also for their generous donations, which will be used to buy new reading books, art work and new signage for the school.
This afternoon, we had a wonderful turnout and many parents and family members came to watch the children perform their final poetry performance for the academic year.
Once again, the performances have got better and better each half term! The children were able to recite their poems with such confidence! Well done to all our Delta children.
